Well, I’ll start this one by saying this is definitely a loaded question; “Do you need time?” could literally mean anything.
Gut reaction, yes. Of course I need time. But then I sat with that question.
Do I… need time? Or do I need the life that is lived and then quantified by that time?
We all have heard “time is a construct” at some point or another in our life, in a movie, you name it; and while that may be true, it’s usually used as a cop-out to avoid responsibility in some way shape or form.
But actually let that ruminate in your brain stew for a second.
Time is in fact a construct, and we know this affects us. Often times when you talk with folks near the end of their road they all say the EXACT same thing: savor that shit (MAYBE I’m paraphrasing, but you get the gist.)
So yes, I need time, because at this point in my life it excites me to see how many years I have left to fill with the things I love. My family, friends, and hobbies can be mine again and not the clocks because of this intentional shift in perspective.
That is huge.
